Challenge
The Honolulu Night Market is a long-standing signature event in a landscape crowded with similar offerings across Oʻahu. The challenge for Olomana Loomis ISC was to evolve the experience in a way that authentically embedded culture without disrupting the brand’s established identity. With FestPAC making its historic debut in Hawaiʻi, there was a unique opportunity to integrate its cultural significance into the event. Doing so required sensitive and strategic planning—navigating a dynamic partner schedule, maintaining the Night Market’s reputation for energy and accessibility, and differentiating it from other community events.

Approach
We aligned the Honolulu Night Market with FestPAC—the world’s largest celebration of Pacific Island cultures—creating a unique opportunity to showcase indigenous traditions in an accessible, community-driven format. The event strategy emphasized cultural storytelling, partnership building, and omni-channel engagement, reinforced through coordinated digital, social, PR, and on-ground activations. The goal: to create a seamless cultural experience that resonated with both loyal attendees and new audiences while honoring the values at the heart of Our Kakaʻako.

Execution
Held across five urban blocks, the Night Market featured 80+ vendors, two live stages, cultural activities, and the newly created “Mākeke Pasifika.” Indigenous performers from across the Pacific shared their artistry, supported by emcee narration and informational touchpoints. Sponsorships, influencer marketing, earned media, and extensive digital engagement ensured high visibility and turnout.

Results
The partnership with FestPAC enabled Our Kakaʻako to evolve its signature event into a meaningful celebration of cultural identity. Through thoughtful storytelling and strong community collaboration, the event deepened connections with attendees and enriched the perception of Our Kakaʻako as a neighborhood grounded in heritage and shared values.
