Centennial Campaign
Hawaii Education Association (HEA) is a statewide nonprofit that provides professional development, scholarships, and programs for current, aspiring, and retired educators at all grade levels and across public, private, and charter schools. HEA’s 100th anniversary in 2021 provided an opportunity to engage more educators and increase HEA’s impact in the community during a time of tremendous challenge amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Olomana Loomis partnered with HEA on its centennial campaign to increase awareness of its programs, reach more early- and mid-stage teachers, grow its aging membership base, share stories about teacher impact, and ignite pride and passion for the profession.

We took a multifaceted approach, including: modernizing HEA’s brand; refreshing its website and brochures; creating and sharing 100 testimonials from educators, students, and leaders through videos, advertorials, social media, e-newsletters, and website; creating a centennial video; reinvigorating its social media; and developing a virtual conference with guidance on navigating the pandemic.

The campaign successfully increased awareness and engagement among educators statewide, grew Facebook followers 60 fold (!), and expanded HEA’s membership base by 10% – the greatest single-year increase in recent times.
